In an earlier post, I told of how the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) has set up a program in which builders can achieve third party certification on standards of environmental sustainability. This is known as LEED certification.
As you might imagine, one of the central aspects of planning a "green" building is choosing the materials. A new book at Moraine Park's Fond du Lac campus library is an excellent introduction to LEED building materials. Each page has photos, explains what each material is (where it came from, what it is made out of) where it can be used, and "Why it is green?"
