Nursing in the Media
Have you ever watched a television medical drama which seemed like it was all about the heroic doctors? Those genius M.D.'s (whether they were male or female, white or minority) always seem to get all the credit.
Meanwhile, another health care profession is being overlooked and denigrated.
The Center for Nursing Advocacy has a feature called News on Nurses in the Media which seeks to hold not only the television networks, but also major newspapers, and even health advocacy groups responsible for their portrayals of nurses in the media.
Right now, active campaigns are going on against House, Grey's Anatomy, and ER.
It is time that the media gives nurses credit for the important work they do. Unfortunately, The Center for Nursing Advocacy is closing its doors. Their website will remain up during a transition phase. Please make use of their resources now while you still can!

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for posting information about our work. We have moved our work over to a new non-profit that I founded since the Center's board ground all work to a halt.
Please visit us at www.TruthAboutNursing.org which is ongoing. Thank you!
